Skywell Spa is a compact, high performance wellness environment built by T.R. Wurster Construction and designed by Archetype Design Collective. Within only 208 square feet, TRW executed a full His and Hers program, multiple wellness systems, custom millwork, structural glass flooring, automated water features, and concealed mechanical integrations. Every element was crafted with precision and intention.

A Build Defined by Precision

The suite includes individual sinks, dressing areas, wardrobes, a soaking tub, steam shower, dry sauna, wet sauna, and a private toilet room. Each feature required exact tolerances and careful sequencing. TRW coordinated framing, waterproofing, cabinetry, stone, glass, lighting, and advanced wellness technology to create a serene environment where every transition feels effortless.

Key Construction Highlights:

Custom Steel and Structural Detailing
A quarter inch plate steel pocket door wrapped in Italian leather glides on a concealed
roller system. TRW aligned the tapered light strip with the angled wall to create a
seamless reveal that disappears when open.

Water Feature and Mechanical Integration

The cascading Cle Zellige wet wall required meticulous integration of irrigation, UV sterilization, hidden solenoids, drainage, and a marble basin beneath structural glass. Each component was built for long term performance and discreet service access. Cedar Millwork and Hidden Architecture Her Bath is wrapped in clear western red cedar with concealed wardrobe storage, a floating vanity, and a backlit onyx vessel sink. With the push of a button a hidden mechanical hatch beneath an Ipe bridge opens to reveal a Bain Ultra therapeutic tub positioned to frame natural light and landscape views. Stone, Glass and Precision Fabrication His Bath features honed limestone and white marble supported by a custom cantilevered steel frame. A solid block marble sink and prototype digital mirror required exact alignment of stone, structure, and lighting for an uninterrupted finish.

Reclaimed and Custom Elements

Two skylights salvaged from Michael Bay’s former Bel Air residence were inserted into a structural steel trough system providing drainage from below, clad in cedar from below. A Burmese Teak and glass pivot door from the Nobu Ryokan was adapted and refit by TRW to meet modern performance requirements.

Advanced Wellness Installations

TRW integrated and commissioned all systems including

• Infrared sauna on a structural glass mezzanine
• Recirculating shower by Orbital Systems
• Aromatherapy steam shower
• Multi zone audio and programmable lighting
• Passive stack ventilation activated through operable skylights
