This modern reinvention of a residence perched on a knoll in Miracle Mile offers sweeping city views with the Hollywood Hills as a backdrop. TR Wurster and Archetype Design Collective transformed the home’s curb appeal and functionality, integrating a rooftop entertainment deck, a new bedroom addition, and a striking façade redesign that blends clean lines with Japanese-inspired elements.

The client wanted to enhance their home’s architectural presence while expanding functional living space. Goals included adding an additional bedroom, creating a ground-level office, upgrading the façade for privacy and aesthetics, and designing an entertainment-focused rooftop deck with a kitchen for movie nights under the stars,all while minimizing disruption to the family during construction.

ADC unified the front elevation by replacing a patchwork of past remodels with a continuous, refined façade. Precisely angled louvers provide privacy without sacrificing panoramic interior views. The addition consolidates programmatic needs—extra bedroom, office, and dramatic entry sequence—while the rooftop deck becomes an outdoor living hub with integrated kitchen and movie-viewing area.

The Stanwood residence now embodies modern elegance with a cohesive architectural language, enhanced privacy, expanded living space, and new outdoor entertainment opportunities. The redesign elevates the home’s street presence while improving its day-to-day livability for decades to come.
