As a integral part of the construction team TRWurster was engaged to assist with the procurement and organization of multiple building components in conjunction with the structural subcontract providing multiple on demand services to the client on demand for this upscale 34 unit apartment building. Leveraging the BIM developed by TRWurster to carefully coordinate code requirements and to fine tune the structure so as to allow the MEPs and other building systems to hit their mark with predicability and planning, this high end residential endeavor in an upscale area is poised to raise the bar on apartment living in this hot spot of development near Warner Center. (Value $19,000,000)
A confidential client who recently purchased a midcentury building less than a quarter mile from the Silverlake Rervoir used TRWurster as a construction management partner to complete a renovation and reinvention of the primary unit on the 5 unit apartment building. Services included the complete refurbishment of the spacious unit including a complete removal and replacement of existing HVAC and MEP systems along with an upgraded electrical service working within the constraints of the existing building, the existing conditions, the other building occupants, and the governing agencies. TRW proposed and executed clever solutions to existing noncompliant railing and fenestration systems to complete the project in a code compliant fashion without compromising the architectural intent while taking care not to intrude on the existing vintage motif of the building. (Value 2,010,000)
A confidential client leveraged TRWurster’s team to take the project with partially completed foundations by others through to completion. This challenging project included two buildings with exposed boardform, rough carpentry, and structural steel components all of which TRWurster installed and executed at an unusually high level of detail and precision. Coordinating the many challenges of the site and existing conditions, this concept was brought to a reality so that the clients could enjoy these long awaited spaces! (Value 1,200,000)
TRWurster was engaged to design build the oceanfront trellis at the SOHO Little Beach House while providing extensive remodeling services on the interior space. Perched on a precious stretch of Carbon Beach adjacent to the Nobu Ryokan Hotel. In collaboration with SOHO House Design TRWurster redesigned the structural wood and steel components along with the guidance of the structural engineer to accommodate the routing and usage of heating and shading components. The natural wood trellis in conjunction with a reworked set of custom built Ipe planters were furnished and constructed by TRWurster to provide a truly serene experience for those who have access to this elite property.
TRWurster was hired by a discerning client who wanted to add an outdoor living space to their spacious and historic estate built in 1929 in Hancock Park. The area needed to compliment the existing Spanish architecture while providing the bustling family and their guests with a place for relaxation and entertainment. TRWurster collaborated with the client to perform the design, procure the entitlements, and build the structure along with self performing many of the finishes. For those items that TRWurster could not effectively perform in house TRW construction management services for the remainder of the procurement and installation to help the client complete the project in an efficient and cost effective way. An open cabana with exposed beam ceilings was conceived along with a fire place, outdoor television, lounge and eating area; open countertops provide the perfect poolside back drop to build memories of friends and family during those delightful California evenings!
TRWurster was procured to reinvent a Malibu Beachfront Deck that needed structural repairs. The structure was carefully retrofitted and repaired and a new deck plan was implemented including Ipe finishes, a custom trellis, a thoughtful glass windscreen, cable railings with integrated lighting, and custom subdeck and above deck planters. All of these features were nicely executed and thoughtfully placed to maximize the stunning view of the Malibu Pier and surrounding oceanscape and landscape to create an outdoor living space that has brought years and delight and enjoyment to our client!
How do you squeeze 4 motorcycles, 4 bicycles, and everything you might find in a garage attic into a existing 2 car garage with flat 7′ ceilings while leaving room for a workshop, an overflow area for entertaining, a media center, while still being sure to leave room for an occasional jam session or a conference/training event? A vaulted ceiling squeezed up underneath the existing roof envelope with 4 electric winches opened up enough floor space to allow the garage to comfortably house all of the vehicles while allowing ample storage space for several bicycles and an attic storage mezzanine. Custom cabinetry creates a environment friendly for a functional and practical workspace which also doubles as an excellent platform for entertaining. A durable and easy to clean epoxy floor allows the space to polish up quickly for alternate use, ductless heating and cooling makes the space a lot more comfortable when the space is being utilized for something other than a parking garage. From concept to completion, this bespoke solution for the necessary function of vehicle storage while allowing infinite possibilities to add temporary bonus space to a small home has proven to serve the needs of its occupants in delightful way!
While collaborating on a Hollywood Residence a local subcontractor furnished a 4 car parking lift system in a two car garage. TRWurster received and installed most of the lift system in addition to fabricating and installing the surrounding steel structural components and some finish components. Since this was a distressed project having been partially completed in a very poor manner by a terminated GC, TRWurster analyzed and repaired the structural deficiencies caused by faulty workmanship while resolving the structural and architectural design conflicts. During our design analysis we discovered that a low clearance sports car couldn’t enter the garage due to the existing approach elevation datum established by the street approach, so we designed and modeled an innovative mechanical solution to solve this problem of geometry.
